Summary: Is mandating or requiring seasonal flu vaccinations for HCWs needed?

Influenza vaccination coverage among HCWs remains below 50% despite the abundance of evidence-based interventions known to increase influenza vaccination coverage levels. Many have advocated that the only way to truly increase influenza vaccination rates among HCWs is through requiring HCWs to get vaccinated. Are there any institutions that have successfully implemented such a program? If so, what please describe the program. If not, what has prohibited your institution from embracing mandatory flu vaccinations?
