What Are Discussion Pages

Question

What are discussion pages?

Answer

Every topic on WikiHealthCare has a corresponding discussion page. Click the bubble icon at the top of is page to view the discussion page for the topic you are reading right now.

If you are hesitant to edit a topic directly, you should use the discussion pages to discuss edits about a topic, propose new ideas or directions for the topic, make a request to other users to add specific content, or simply ask questions about the topic.

The discussion pages also serve a critical step in the dispute resolution process. Rather than engaing in edit wars, when users realize there is a conflict, they should begin a constructive dialogue using the discussion page (and avoid editing the main page until the issue is resolved). Obviously, a friendly and civil attempt to reach compromise won't work in all cases, but WikiHealthCare administrators will review the discussion pages when an issue has been formally identified for dispute resolution.
