WikiHealthCare was established by
The Joint Commission to serve as a dynamic quality improvement resource for the community of health care providers, researchers, technicians, administrators and other professionals dedicated to providing effective and efficient patient care. What makes the application unique, is that all users are encouraged to directly contribute to the development of the site. In addition to searching the site for quality improvement solutions, users can directly edit exisiting content, add their own experiences for the benefit of others, and even start their own quality improvement topics.
The site is enabled by Wiki software (
TWikitm). This software allows users to post new content, edit existing content and engage in discussions with other members of the healthcare community, using a standard web browser (i.e., the user does not need any special software or editing programs). This ease of interaction and operation makes a wiki an effective tool for collaborative authoring. For additional information on the history of Wiki, please visit
wiki.org.
To participate, all users must
Register. Once registered, users have the ability to easily add, remove, and otherwise edit and change page content.
If you are new to the site, we strongly encourage you to take the tutorial, review the policy and guideline pages and practice editing in the
Sandbox.
