Fields Reports from Castle Medical Center

  • Healing Grounds: Caring for our Community - Castle Medial Center became the first tobacco/smoke-free hospital on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, on November 17, 2005. With a strong commitment to maintaining "healing grounds" for its patients, visitors and staff, CMC formed a task force and implemented the new policy that prohibits use of all tobacco products on the entire campus. Overall, the tobacco-free hospital policy has been well received and respected. However, enforcement remains an ongoing challenge and responsibility of all staff. CMCs tobacco-free campus and its support for those struggling with nicotine addiction put into action its mission: Caring for Our Community, Sharing Gods Love. (Posted by BethZ on 06 Jul 2007)
