I think that JCAHO should move to require SBI in hospitals since research shows that the majority of trauma cases and that 50 % of the inpatients in a general hospital have an alcohol or drug problem. Intervention has been shown to work andf thtis will save healthcare dollars. SBi can only improve care for many of our patients.
