Implementation
The Certified Medical Assistants screened the elgible customers with the SBIRT screening when checking in for their appointment before seeing thier medical Providers. If negative, the screening ends at that point. If positive the medical Provider talks to the customer and asks if they are willing to talk to a Behavioral Health Consultant who continues with the screening further and provides brief intervention. If the customer is willing to participate with treatment as needed, they are referred to Cook Inlet Tribal Council for treatment.
