Description of Research

A study was done to determine if the knowledge and attitudes of pharmacy technicians could be changed based on attending a 2 hour continuing education course about smoking cessation. Pharmacy technicians who attended a CE program on smoking cessation improved their knowledge, attitudes, and self-confidence in helping smokers quit. Additional research should be conducted to test the role of pharmacy technicians in smoking cessation promotion.

Interesting article, thanks. Would anyone have information on how many pharmacy technicians and tech schools exist, and how many pharm techs have been trained in smoking cessation (in addition to those mentioned in the article)? Thank you.
