Principles Governing Content Development for Upgrading HIT-Related Joint Commission Standards
Posted by EricDanielson on 21 Sep 2007 Summary: In November 2006, The Joint Commission Board of Commissioners approved the "Principles Governing Content Development for Upgrading HIT-Related Joint Commission Standards" ("HIT Principles") as recommended by The Joint Commission's Health Information Technology Strategic Issues Work Group. These 11 principles were created to guide standards content development as health care organizations transition to an electronic health information environment. All future standards will be assessed for congruency with the HIT Principles.
